Little glimpses into life on a little farm
We take great pleasure in the beauty we see and the activities that take place every day on our little slice of the world. This is never more true than when we can share it with others. We are excited to use this space to broaden our sharing community.

OUR STORY
Who We Are
Lucky Turns Farm is home to our family of three, plus an assortment of friendly critters, including horses, chickens, dogs, cats, honeybees, and untold wild beings. We moved here in late 2014, thanks to the unpredictable forces of friendship and luck, and are continually adding and changing our landscape and menagerie.
OUR NAME
We thought long and hard about our name, but it requires a little explanation. Our primary inspiration is the Zen parable, "The Farmer's Luck," about how luck can shift and turn in its context. The version we read regularly is from Jon J. Muth's wonderful book, "Zen Shorts." Of course, we feel wonderfully lucky to have found Lucky Turns Farm, but we also know that luck is a tricky thing and it's important to stay grateful.

Less philosophically, this farm was also owned by a wonderful orange barn cat, named "Lucky" who was here when we arrived and lived with us for a couple years before he passed peacefully away in the barn he loved. And we live on a road that makes two sweeping turns at the corners of our property. So, in short, we are "Lucky Turns Farm."
